“The opportunity I have in coaching will be to share in the FUNdamentals (emphasis on fun) that I enjoyed throughout the years. The smiles from the swimmers during the workouts, especially when a new skill or best practice times are achieved, are the biggest rewards. I want to motivate each swimmer to always become a champion of integrity; even at young ages, it is more important than how fast they go. I’d like them to always be gracious to the competition, giving handshakes and high-fives, whether they win or lose. More importantly, even after a loss, I want the swimmers to ask themselves: ‘What did I learn from that race that will make me better next time?’”
